April Ross
April Ross is one of just a handful of female beach volleyball players to capture medals at multiple Olympics. Alix Klineman, taking part for the very first time at Tokyo's Olympic Games and will attempt to win her third medal. Ross is also hoping to win her first Olympic gold. In fact, at 39, this could be her last opportunity to achieve it. The athlete is optimistic she will be able to win top awards. If we perform at our very highest or perform well, I think we'll win the gold medal Ross stated on NBC Boston. Additionally, I'm going to rely on a bit of luck. Ross was born in 1982 and lived in Costa Mesa California with her sister and parents, began competing in the sports of Newport Harbor High School. Apart from playing in numerous sport, she also attended Newport Harbor High School. She competed in basketball and the track as well as her indoor volleyball exploits as a prep athlete. She was definitely the best in the game of indoor volleyball. Based on her bio, she was a middle blocker and an outside volleyball player during her senior year at high school. In recognition of her work, she was honored as the 1999 Gatorade Circle of Champions National Player of the Year. In 2000, she was awarded an Orange County Athlete of the of the year for volleyball. Ross is working with Klineman from 2017 but her beach game was well-established long before the year. She has won major events twice, with various partners. A couple of those has become an icon of the world of volleyball. From 2007 until 2013, she was partnered with Jennifer Kessy, who is currently her coach. Along with Kessy Ross, she won an Olympic Title in 2009 while competing internationally. In 2012, the pair won silver at London's Olympic Games. They were beaten out for the gold by the legendary group comprising Misty and Kerri Walsh (Jennings). Ross Jennings became Walsh Jennings partner in fate after Maytreanor's retirement. Both went on to win the bronze beach volleyball trophy at the Rio Olympics in 2016 along with Walsh Jennings. Ross was a Trojans player for the USC during her college days, the years prior to her professional career. Her experience at USC was quite impressive. As a freshmen in 2000, her play earned her the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Young Player of the Year awards. Also, she was a key player in helping the Trojans make the Final Four. The second season of her career, she experienced a terrible personal tragedy, but managed to earn the honor of being named an All-American. Over her final 2 seasons with the Trojans program, she coached the Trojans to winning a national title every year. The achievements of each individual have established her as a volleyball legend. Ross was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the best female college player. Ross who was a USC international relations major, was a star in volleyball. Margie Ross wasn't able to witness her daughter's climb to fame as a beach volleyball player. Ross's mom passed away due to breast cancer while she was in her sophomore year at USC. She is devoted to her parents who passed away. Also, Margie remains a source of encouragement for her on the beaches and throughout her daily life.
